Hey there!
Thanksgiving
We spent Thanksgiving in Central Asia this year which was something to remember. On Thanksgiving Thursday itself, half of the team was sick and unable to cook so we postponed it for a few days.
Each person was in charge of cooking one dish in the Thanksgiving food we could make! Alondra handled the . Megan cooked the green bean casserole, corn, carrots, caramel pecans, and the chicken. JP and I made the mashed potatoes. And Kathryn cooked the apple crisp!
We also wrote down things that we were grateful for during the week before.
Even though we all missed being home with family, we had a sweet time together celebrating and practicing gratitude!

Birthday
Kathryn's birthday was November 19th which meant we celebrated in Central Asia!
For her birthday, we had a dinner with the staff in Central Asia. We also had a second birthday dinner, one where she invited over a student whose birthday was also that week. We made the food Kathryn requested (curry) and celebrated with macarons! They were so good.
JP's birthday is December 2nd so we also celebrated in Central Asia. For his birthday, we held a party at the Academic Center we work through. We had an interview session where he shared his story. We also had a ping pong tournament and dance party. One of the students brought a cake and we enjoyed that!

Goodbye
During the course of our last week in Central Asia, we had four cakes. I would be more than happy to never have cake again.
Saying goodbye to these people who I love so dearly was difficult for me. I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with them, laughing and sharing the love of Christ.
